2014 Veritas Mini Master Custom
This Custom Veritas Mini Master is my favorite guitar due to its reliability. The neck is incredibly comfortable, allowing me to play for extended periods, and it maintains its tuning flawlessly. I got this guitar from my friend Jeffrey Kunde. After borrowing it, I couldn't put it down. Thanks Jeffrey! I love Veritas guitars, and this particular one holds a special place in my heart. I first played it on the “Love Has A Name” live album recording for Jesus Culture.
2008 Fender Road Worn 60’s Stratocaster
This strat is from 2008 and was the first run of the Fender “Road Worn” series. While it originally came with its stock neck, I've since upgraded it to a 60s classic player’s neck, primarily for its flatter 12" radius. I've also given it a boost by swapping the original pickups for a set of USA standard Fender pickups from the late ‘90s.
2001 Fender American Standard Telecaster
My 2001 Fender American Standard Telecaster is a total workhorse. I feel like this was a really good year/era for the Fender Telecaster. My brother initially stumbled upon this gem on Craigslist over a decade ago, and even in its used condition, its charm was undeniable. It was the epitome of what a classic Telecaster should be. Since my brother's main instrument is bass guitar, he graciously agreed to sell it to me when I began playing with the Jesus Culture Sacramento worship team. Also, I believe he replaced the stock pickups with the Lollar '52s.
2020 Gretsch G6636T Players Edition White Falcon
This Gretsch Player's Edition Falcon is awesome. One of the features I like is its thinner body coupled with the center block; this design not only prevents unwanted feedback but also enhances the sound. The pickups are classic Gretsch in their tone, delivering that specific growl that resonates with my love of the early Hillsong and Jesus Culture records. While I've always loved the iconic look of the White Falcon, I've found that traditional models can sometimes be restrictive in their versatility. However, this Player's Edition addresses that concern, merging timeless aesthetics with contemporary playability, making it the perfect fusion of the past and present, in my opinion.
2017 Fender Monterey Stratocaster
My Monterey Stratocaster is more of a collector’s buy. Since my younger years, I've had an affinity for Stratocasters because of my dad. We'd both get lost in the sounds of Jimi Hendrix's music, and often watch the firey footage of his Monterey Pop live concert. John Mayer's tribute with his own Monterey Strat only fueled my desire to have this one. While there may be technically superior Strats out there, the sheer nostalgia and sentimental value attached to this particular one elevates it for me.
2022 Martin OM-28
I've had a few acoustic guitars over the years but this one is the most ideal for both live and studio recording. The smaller body shape is more forgiving if you find yourself in different venues, using different sound systems and sound people. It also has a big, deep sound for a “smaller” guitar (I’m more used to dreadnought /D28 style)
